How to Apply
The program academic year runs from July to June. Applications to the residency program are accepted through the Electronic Resident Application Service (ERAS). For the 2024- 2025 ERAS cycle, our program will be participating in the supplemental ERAS application offered through the AAMC's ERAS program. Applicants will be required to complete the MyERAS application, and participation in the supplemental ERAS application is optional. Our program will conduct all interviews in person for the 2024- 2025 cycle. The additional information collected will help our program staff learn more about applicants' medical journey, including more meaningful information about work, volunteer, and research experiences, and will help us better identify applicants who fit our program environment and mission.
We participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), which occurs in March each year. Recruited residents can expect to begin their residency periods on July 1, with Orientation beginning one week prior.
Our Program Details Are As Follows:
- Program Name: Golden Triangle Baptist Memorial Medical Education Program

Program Requirements
We focus on the whole candidate, with our most important criteria being “mission fit,” some examples including:
- Being a native of Mississippi or the Mid-South
- Education in Mississippi or the Mid-South (undergraduate, post-graduate, medical school)
- Having a strong connection to loved ones in Mississippi or the Mid-South
- A desire to live in and serve Mississippi and the Mid-South region after training
-
Have obtained an MD/DO degree within the last 5 years (for the 24-25 cycle, the cut-off year would be 2020)
With the above in mind, we do not define any strict cut-off criteria that may exclude any candidate. We will consider international medical graduate candidates as well as those who require J-1 visa sponsorship through the Educational Commission For Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
