The Department of Internal Medicine at Baptist Golden Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi is dedicated to training residents for careers in general internal medicine or further training in a subspecialty area.
The mission of our Internal Medicine Residency Program is to produce knowledgeable, compassionate physicians who are able to deliver evidence based medical care and to prepare these physicians to serve as leaders of the community. Our purpose is to create a multidisciplinary healthcare setting conducive to superior teaching, dedication to life-long learning and commitment to high quality treatment for all patients with the application of modern resources. Baptist Golden Triangle endeavors to cultivate an intellectually challenging and stimulating environment engineered towards educational excellence, utilizing current scientific research, facilitating individual scholarship and improving the health of Mississippians.
We provide care for a diverse patient population from various racial, cultural, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. As the largest hospital for this medically underserved region, we care for a wide variety of pathological diseases and sustain a substantial patient volume offering a variety of experiences for resident physicians. Our faculty is eager to develop young physicians and mold them into caregivers who are ready for the challenges of such community based medical care.
Baptist Golden Triangle's substantial patient volume and vast pathology is comparable to many larger facilities, yet we are in a smaller community that offers a family-oriented atmosphere. At Baptist Golden Triangle, we offer the best of both worlds.
The Internal Medicine Residency is the first and only program at Baptist Golden Triangle. We have committed numerous resources to the program to ensure the success and development of excellent physicians. As the program has grown, we have found it offers a sense of pride and accomplishment to our institution. We have been whole heartedly embraced by the Columbus, Mississippi community.
